South DuSable Lake Shore Drive Pavement Repairs - Traffic Updates

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), as part of the 2023 Arterial Resurfacing Program, is conducting joint repairs and pavement patching on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive between 31st Street and 57th Drive. 

Repairs in the southbound lanes have been completed. 

On Saturday, October 7, all southbound lanes reopened. 

Beginning Monday, October 9, northbound DLSD between 31st and 57th will be reduced to two lanes. During weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., it will be reduced to one lane. 

Week of October 30: Crews are conducting final pavement patching in two NB lanes. 


CDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling, to take alternate routes if possible, and encourages people to use public transportation. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, drive with extra caution, and be alert for workers and equipment.
