Judge Ends Hold on Police Board Disciplinary Cases

On February 26, Cook County Circuit Court Judge Michael Mullen declined to extend the stay/hold that he placed on Police Board disciplinary cases.

“In light of the court’s ruling, the Police Board will now resume hearing and deciding disciplinary cases against Chicago police officers, as is our duty under the Municipal Code of Chicago,” stated Police Board President Kyle Cooper.

Status hearings for several cases are set for March 1 and March 5. The next evidentiary hearing of a case is scheduled to begin on March 25. Scheduling information for all cases currently before the Board is posted on the Board’s website.
