Mayor Emanuel, Chicago Park District Announce Spring Park Program Registration To Open Monday

Mayor Emanuel and Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Michael P. Kelly today announced online registration for spring programs will open on Monday, February 27, with inperson registration beginning Saturday, March 4.

“After a week of spring-like temperatures, Chicagoans can get ready to take advantage of the Chicago Park District’s spring programming in neighborhoods throughout the City,” said Mayor Emanuel. “It’s the best deal in town, and the Park District offers something for everyone -
regardless of your age, zip code or income level.”

This year’s spring session is chock-full of athletic and artistic offerings for all ages. Programs range from softball and swimming to theater and dance instruction.

“The Chicago Park District is in the business of offering thousands of sport, fitness, cultural and environmental programming opportunities to help keep patrons active and engaged,” said Superintendent Kelly. “Patrons of all ages enjoy the experience of signing up and coming to their local park for inexpensive programs that enrich their lives.”

Online registration for spring programming will open on Monday, February 27 at 9 a.m. for parks located west of California Avenue, and online registration for parks located east of California Avenue will open Tuesday, February 28 at 9 a.m.Programs at the McFetridge Sports Center and Morgan Park Sports Center will begin in-person registration on Tuesday, March 7.

In-person registration begins Saturday, March 4at most park locations, with some sites starting on Monday, March 6. Most programs begin the week of April 4th. No child will be turned away due to inability to pay and financial assistance is available.
