Mayor's Press Office    312.744.3334

This week on the Chicago Stories Podcast Mayor Emanuel interviewed architects Mark Lee and Sharon Johnston, artistic directors of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.

Mayor Emanuel sat down with Mark and Sharon  to discuss the opportunities and challenges in creating great architecture and great cities.

The theme for the second edition of the Biennial is “Make New History,” challenging participants to find new ways history is invoked in the production of new architectural forms.

As Sharon said, one of the great legacies of the Biennial is bringing awareness to the potential of architecture through projects around the world, elevating the way people can live in cities and new ways of imagining the future of cities.

The second edition of the Chicago Architecture Biennial features over 141 practitioners from more than 20 countries, and is the largest architecture and design exhibition in North America. The main exhibition is free and open to the public until January 7, 2018.
