"Running is an individual sport, but hosting a marathon takes a true team effort. A Chicago Marathon record of over 43,000 runners finished today's race and I want to thank the Chicago Police, Fire, OEMC, Parks, CTA, CDOT and Streets and Sanitation teams, our state and federal partners, and all of the dedicated volunteers who made today's race a success for the runners who crossed the finish line and the thousands of fans from across the city and around the world who were cheering them on."
