"I commend Democrats and Republicans in the Illinois House and Senate for coming together, putting public safety over politics and passing the Gun Dealer Licensing Bill. This common sense bill will help keep guns out of the wrong hands. Now Governor Rauner must do the right thing and sign this bill into law without delay. We should all be proud of this vote, but our work is not done. My hope, and the public's hope, is that the Paul Bauer Act, the ban on bump stocks, the bill to raise the age to purchase an assault weapon and the bill to extend the wait time when purchasing an assault weapon will soon be on the governor's desk and that he will quickly sign them into law. We don't have a moment to spare."
