As the person who had the privilege of nominating Nancy Pelosi for her first Speakership, it is an honor to congratulate Speaker Pelosi as she retakes the gavel and ushers in a new era of accountability in Washington. Speaker Pelosi is a tough, smart, and experienced legislator and leader. I have the utmost respect for her strengths, and am proud to join Chicagoans and Americans across the country in wishing her success as the Speaker of the House.
