The Lakefront-Shoreline program reduces erosion and deterioration in partnership with the Chicago Park District and U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.

Morgan Shoal and Promontory Point Shoreline Reconstruction

Shoreline redesign and construction will span from 45th street to 51st street on the Morgan Shoal. Upon completion in 2025, Promontory Point, stretching from 54th street to 56th street, will be re-protected. The two projects constitute nearly 9000 feet of historic shoreline.
