Neighborhood Infrastructure



Dedicated to improving the City's residential street system

 

In cooperation with Chicago's Department of Transportation (CDOT), the program improves residential streets, sidewalks and lighting, and includes the Aldermanic Menu Program


Residential Street Resurfacing Program

 

Over $300 million dedicated to resurface 310 miles of residential streets, with a plan to replace the city's streets on a 20 year schedule

Environmental Sustainability

 

$15 million allocated to plant approximately 25,000 trees over the next 5 years. Over $68 million allocated to construct 300 'Green' Alleys in neighborhoods. 

Lighting Program

 

Over $150 million dedicated through 'Chicago Works' that will replace over 900 blocks of streetlights and 4,500 hazardous poles.

Aldermanic Menu Program

 

$1.5 million allocated to each of Chicago's 50 Wards' Alderpersons for specific, local infrastructure needs.
