Project Background

Stitching It Together is a multi-phase planning initiative led by the Department of Planning and Development (DPD) that aims to center local voices in a vision to strengthen connections between the Brighton Park and Gage Park communities and improve access to the new Chicago Park District facility at 48th Street and Western Boulevard.  

Stitching it Together includes areas of Gage Park and Brighton Park. This planning initiative will serve as a vision for the communities and inform future planning work. 

Project Team 

Stitching It Together is led by DPD and supported by SOM, a collective interdisciplinary team of architects, urban designers, and planners with a long history of successful initiatives in the city.  

SOM will work alongside a diverse and experienced team that will cover community engagement, market research, and design and planning expertise:
