Working Group Ordinance & Structure

 

On September 26th, the Chicago City Council’s Health and Human Relations Committee unanimously endorsed an ordinance establishing four working group for development of recommendations regarding provision of mental health services, which then cleared the final vote by the full City Council on October 5th. The working groups will suggest a framework, roadmap, and recommendations for the City to expand mental health clinical services, non-police response for behavioral and mental health crises, and community awareness of available mental health resources

Upcoming Meetings

 

Per the ordinance, the working groups will meet regularly to develop the program's vision and roadmap, engaging community partners, sharing data, and conducting research, while also consulting with community members and hosting public meetings
